Rage Against the Machine is the Christmas No 1
Thanks to the will of the people who had something to say; and the possibility to speak out that Facebook and other ‘social media / web 2.0′ tools gave them; Killing in the Name has become the Christmas No 1 of 2009 in the UK.
A lot of people did miss the point though, this had nothing to do with beating capitalism or reducing the paychecks of Sony employees. The whole thing started as a joke (internet humour) but it proved that behind it, there was a genuine feeling of dislike towards Shitty-Over-Manufactured-Pop engulfing the fires that kept the idea from becoming another fad.
Congratulations to all those who bought the single to prove that self-organization does work (when there’s enough fire).
